Microcement floors.
If we need to enhance the decoration and all the elements that we like in our home or a specific room, there is no better covering than microcement to give prominence and value to these decorative elements. A nice living room table acquires much more value and a decorative look when it is on a continuous surface than on any type of floor with joins – check it yourself.
There are no longer excuses for not daring to enjoy a house or any indoor or outdoor area with microcement floors, even managing to develop the continuity of the same covering, starting on floors and climbing up the walls, stairs, units or any decorative element.
Currently there are few coverings that have as many advantages as microcement, especially in renovations and rehabilitations. Its ease of application, the unnecessary demolition of the existing support, and the spectacular change of image provide a number of values that will undoubtedly make an impression on everyone.
In addition, with Cementec Ready to Use, we can choose the right product that we want to apply, based on needs and the future use that we plan for it.
Types of microcement floors.
Continuous floors provide us positive sensations and emotions due to their design and practicality. However, we must take into account our needs and the functionality that we are going to offer. With Ready to Use Cementec we can choose the elegance and sense of harmony of our Standard Cementec or we can choose the depth and personality provided by the Cementec Texture product. We can also choose our Cementec Medium Resistance microcement for wet areas, or if what we want is to cover an outdoor area or a place with maximum pedestrian traffic, the Cementec High Transit product is the ideal product. Each product offers specific features according to our tastes and needs.
Advantages of microcement floors.
There are many advantages to enjoy, both in new construction and renovation. Below, we tell you about some of them: First of all, and notably, its continuity always makes an impact on us. There are no joins between different pieces, just a single extension. This offers a very pleasant feeling of elegance and spaciousness in any area. It does not need expansion joints. It does not expand or contract with changes in the environment (humidity, temperature, etc.) as other materials can. We only have to respect the joins of the original support, but nothing more. Its flexural strength properties provide the necessary elasticity to support and maintain itself correctly without deteriorating. Cementec microcement has a high level of adhesion, which allows it to be used on many different surfaces, such as tiles, stoneware, marble, mortar or concrete. Perhaps the only exception would be application on parquet or floating flooring, because these are subject to continuous movement. In addition, in renovations, as you avoid taking out the previous floor and the debris that this entails, this provides us with ease and speed in application times. It can be used both indoors and outdoors, which allows you to carry out very attractive decorative projects. Likewise, it does not require heavy machinery or excessive logistics for its application. Its maintenance and care are very simple. A great advantage over other types of flooring is that the level of the surface does not rise excessively, only about 3mm at the maximum. Due to this, it is not necessary to carry out lifting tasks for other elements of the house, beyond planning a door if necessary.
Care and maintenance of microcement floors.
A very interesting feature of microcement is its easy maintenance. It is important to know that the durability will of course depend on the quality of the product, but our use of it will certainly have a significant influence. Cementec Ready to Use recommends the use of maintenance waxes to be applied from time to time (at the same time as a floor is mopped). In this way we will be able to keep with more “life” and greater protection. Regarding the use of cleaning products, neutral soaps are always recommended. However, if we have applied Finish Forte Plus (the most powerful protector in our range of protective varnishes), we can even use any type of soap and strong cleaning product, always diluted in water. Finally, proper use is undoubtedly our best guarantee of durability, so if we use felt and protectors under furniture and heavy objects and do not drag them, we will keep it in perfect condition for a long time.
Are microcement floors recommended for kitchens and bathrooms?
Microcement floors are spectacularly ideal and recommended for covering kitchens and bathrooms. In bathrooms, they are even more elegant when they are also accompanied by microcement walls. Home renovations always start with bathrooms and the kitchen, and without a doubt it is a perfect opportunity to elegantly redecorate and change areas that are used so much and deteriorated by use and the passage of time. Our Cementec Ready to Use product is designed with a protective Final Finish, suitable for use in kitchens, due to its perfect result. It is a product that has been tested against any type of stain, due to its composition providing perfect waterproofing, which guarantees the possibility of enjoying the kitchen without any type of hazard. Likewise, for bathrooms, such as in shower trays, it also provides waterproofing, cleanliness, and a design concept that transports us to a much more comfortable and harmonious space, in these rooms where we spend so much time.
Finishes and designs of microcement floors.
Microcement floors are always finished with our polyurethane finishes, our Finish Forte and Finish Forte Plus products. The former provides a very natural, silky and subdued aesthetic, very suitable for areas such as stairs, living rooms, low traffic areas, etc. Finish Forte Plus, with a very advanced technology due to its anti-stain and waterproofing components, is the finish recommended for areas where stains can arise, as well as where water can be used, such as the kitchen, bathrooms and outdoors. Its aesthetics provide more body and layer density, and it is undoubtedly the finish used in high transit areas. Both products can be used in matte, satin and gloss finishes. Undoubtedly, matte finishes are usually the most chosen because they offer a more cement-like and natural design.
